Manganoan Calcite
Manganoan calcite also referred to as Mangano calcite is a pink variety of the mineral calcite. Geologically, it's a calcium carbonate belonging to the hexagonal crystal system. It's commonly found in marble and limestone formations and it's quite soft, with a Mohs hardness of 3. It also fizzes when it's exposed to acid.
Mangano calcite contains Rhodochrosite where some calcium ions are substituted by managanese within the calcites atomic structure. This gives it it's pale pink tinge. The manganese in the rhodochrosite also makes this calcite glow fluorescent orangey red under UV light.
Revered for its connection to love and emotional well-being, it's a stone aligned with the Heart Chakra, promoting feelings of compassion, self-acceptance, unconditional love and forgiveness. Many believe it helps release emotional baggage, allowing the user to let go of anger, frustration, past hurts and anxieties, to help foster inner peace. Some associate it with the angelic realm, promoting spiritual connection and intuition.
