Snowflake Obsidian

Snowflake obsidian, a captivating volcanic glass, is born from fiery origins. It forms when lava cools rapidly, trapping tiny white crystals of Cristobalite within its glassy black base. These white inclusions resemble snowflakes, giving the stone its distinctive name. It is found in places like Mexico and Iceland and it's hardness makes it suitable for jewellery and carvings.
