Moonstone

Moonstone, a gemstone famed for its ethereal glow, is a variety of feldspar minerals. Geologically, it forms in igneous rocks like granite when layers of different minerals grow together. These microscopic layers diffract light, causing the captivating adularescent sheen – a soft, shimmering light that appears to emanate from within the stone. Moonstone is found in locations worldwide, including India, Sri Lanka, and the USA. Its hardness makes it suitable for jewellery, but it requires careful handling.

Beyond its captivating beauty, moonstone is steeped in spiritual symbolism. Often linked to the moon's cycles, it's believed to promote emotional balance and inner peace. The stone's gentle, calming energy is associated with femininity and intuition. Some cultures believe it enhances psychic abilities and fosters emotional well-being. Moonstone's colour variations hold specific meanings. Rainbow moonstone, with its vibrant play of colour, is associated with heightened intuition and creativity. Whilst white moonstone is linked to emotional purity and new beginnings.

Moonstone is believed to activate the crown and third eye chakras, promoting spiritual connection and intuition. It's used in meditation for emotional balance and to access inner wisdom. Some believe it brings good luck in love matters and strengthens emotional connections.
